CalmFloor manufactures and installs vibration monitoring systems for buildings, with units positioned across floors to monitor structural health and performance. Whilst the company collected extensive data from hundreds of monitoring units across their client base, this valuable information was locked away in internal systems. Clients had no way to access real-time data about their buildings, check unit performance, or review historical trends without contacting CalmFloor directly.
The company needed a portal that would give clients instant access to their monitoring data whilst supporting their reseller network. The system had to handle complex hierarchies, with businesses managing multiple buildings, each containing several floors with numerous monitoring units. Resellers required the ability to access multiple client accounts with their own branding applied throughout the interface.
Beyond basic data display, the portal needed to provide genuinely useful tools. Clients managing dozens of locations needed interactive maps to quickly locate buildings and identify issues. Building managers required visual floor plans showing exactly where each monitoring unit was positioned. The data itself needed to be presented through flexible charts allowing users to analyse vibration scores and activity patterns across different time periods.
GSL built a comprehensive web portal using Next.js, a modern framework chosen specifically for its performance and maintainability. The technology stack ensures the client retains full ownership of clean, industry-standard code that any experienced development team can work with.
The portal integrates with CalmFloor’s existing AWS infrastructure, pulling data from their internal systems through a series of API connections. This approach meant all monitoring data, unit information, and business details remain in CalmFloor’s control whilst the portal provides a polished interface for accessing it.
Interactive mapping functionality allows clients to view all their building locations on a single map. For clients with hundreds of buildings across wide geographic areas, the system intelligently groups nearby locations into clusters that expand as users zoom in. Buildings are colour-coded based on their monitoring status, providing instant visual feedback about which locations require attention.
Floor plan visualisation gives building managers the ability to see exactly where each monitoring unit is positioned within their buildings. Users can zoom and pan across floor plans, with each unit displaying its current health status through colour-coded indicators. For buildings with multiple floor plan variations, the system allows quick switching between different layouts.
Custom chart functionality presents historical data across flexible time periods. Users can analyse vibration scores and CalmFloor activity by day, week, month, or year, with the interface adapting to show either detailed line charts or summarised bar charts depending on the selected timeframe. The system clearly differentiates between periods with zero activity and periods where data wasn’t collected, avoiding confusion in the analysis.
Multi-business architecture enables clients with diverse property portfolios to switch seamlessly between different business entities, each maintaining its own statistics and subscription status. Reseller accounts can access multiple client businesses whilst presenting a white-labelled experience, with their own branding and colour scheme applied throughout the interface.
The portal supports CalmFloor’s CalmCare subscription service by clearly displaying package status, renewal dates, and encouraging upgrades where appropriate. For units without active subscriptions, chart views display preview data whilst prompting users about the benefits of upgrading.

CalmFloor’s clients now have instant access to their monitoring data through a clean, intuitive interface that works seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Building managers can check unit performance, review historical trends, and identify issues without needing to contact CalmFloor’s support team.
The interactive mapping and floor plan features have proven particularly valuable for clients managing large property portfolios. Rather than navigating through lists of locations, users can visually identify buildings requiring attention and drill down to specific floor plans to see exactly which units are reporting issues.
The reseller white-labelling capability has extended CalmFloor’s commercial reach, allowing their partner network to present the portal as part of their own service offering whilst maintaining their brand identity. This has strengthened relationships within CalmFloor’s distribution channel.
From a technical perspective, the AWS integration and API-driven architecture means CalmFloor maintains complete control over their data whilst delivering a modern user experience. The portal can scale to accommodate growing client numbers and expanding monitoring networks without requiring fundamental architectural changes.
