Westward Shipping

Website design and brand identity for a brand new maritime news publication.

The Challenge.

GSL Media had the exciting opportunity to work with Westward Shipping News, a brand new platform about every aspect of the Martime sectors in the South West of England.

Westward Shipping News needed a website platform to provide their audience with maritime news from Plymouth and the South West. GSL were tasked with the website design and developing a brand identity for the new business. This project offered the opportunity for GSL to showcase their experience in web development, branding, and design to work for a company that was starting from square one.

The Solution.

The project commenced with productive brainstorming sessions, during which GSL carefully analysed the target audiences and their user journeys. To establish a unified brand identity, a refined color palette comprising various shades of blue was chosen, ensuring consistency across all design elements.

Drawing upon the insights gained from audience and user journey research, GSL meticulously crafted an engaging, contemporary, and fully responsive website. The site features a dynamic navigation system that allows users to easily browse through the site. Furthermore, GSL implemented a customised blog layout that enables the Westward Shipping team to easily update and manage the blog themselves.

The Results.

The website provides a clear journey for users and presents blog posts in a bold and eye catching way, enticing users to read and interact with the resources provided by Westward Shipping.

Prominent social links encourage engagement through multiple channels and the website currently achieves in the region of 100,000 views every month from users across the globe.
